The biblical narrative of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt, a widely recognized account, depicts Moses leading them out after significant opposition from Pharaoh and divine intervention. Upon exiting Egypt, they entered the wilderness of Shur, where they journeyed for three days without finding any water, eventually they found water in the oasis of Marah, but to their dismay, the water there was undrinkable due to its bitterness. This hardship pushed the Israelites to their breaking point, Faced with such dire circumstances, they possessed ample justification to murmur, harbor resentment, question divine providence, and doubt God's promises and faithfulness. In their collective bitterness and anger, they aptly named the location Marah, meaning "bitter."
